Hi Dave. Great presentation this morning at the DuPage Co. Health and P.E. institute in Naperville. Got home and purchased your book.

Hi David. Do you sign your books?

Read about your book and will purchase it today if it is available at the local book store. Otherwise i will order it. I have a question (ok, actually i have many, but i will only ask one on here). I love chocolate but because of a health issue i cannot have ANY caffeine. Do you have any suggestions as to what i can use to substitute for that craving that i sometimes have? BTW, I am very passionate about nutrition and am so excited to read your book and share tips with my friends. Thanks!

Thanks, Sheri. You MUST try the Greanie Beanie brownie recipe featured in 101 Optimal Life Foods. It is made with carob chips, NOT chocolate – which is perfect for you. If you hate the taste of carob and love the taste of chocolate, these brownies are for you!! Scroll down and you will see a picture of them on my blog. Let me know what you think!

Are there two books with similar titles? I bought 101 foods that will save your life. Is there another book? I didn’t see the carob brownies recipe in the book i bought. Is there somewhere else i can get that recipe? BTW i’ve made it to apples in the book and i find it very informative and useful. Looking forward to reading more and incorporating those foods into my everyday diet.

Hi Sheri. Sorry for the confusion. 101 Optimal Life Foods ( the new book) contains the recipe for the Beanie Greenie brownies. It sounds like you purchased 101 Foods That Could Save Your Life. But not to worry, let me direct you to page 72 for a most awesome Carob Walnut cake recipe. The recipe does call for cocoa powder but can be easily swapped out for carob powder which you can find at your local health food store. Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Hi Guyatition! Love your work, especially your videos. When I was watching the video “Why Eat Avocados?” I enjoyed the background music/jingle. 🙂 Can you tell me what it’s called or how I can get a copy of it. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication. Cheers! – Adriana

When reading a old Better Homes and Garden magazine (2008) there was a small article about trading boxed cereals for your muesli recipe. One of the ingredients was 1/2 cup of toasted oats. Is this the (Quaker) oats used for making oatmeal or something else. I didn’t think you could eat these oats raw. Thanks for your reply.

    • guyatitian says:

      Ho Lorraine:

The Firefighter’s Muesli was originally made with old fashioned rolled oats. So no, the oats can be eaten raw and don’t have to be toasted. Actually, rolled oats are partially “cooked” and there is no danger eating them straight up. I attribute this muesli recipe to my marked cholesterol reduction and most importantly, it tastes great!! Enjoy and thanks for asking!

      Dave
